Record Store Day Black Friday: 13 Titles to Add to Your Shopping List

Record Store Day Black Friday (RSDBF) is back on November 29, and this year, there are a bunch of titles available from the rock world that will surely make excellent gifts this holiday season.

With nearly 200 different releases available on RSDBF, it might be overwhelming to figure out where to start. To help you out, start with these 13 titles.

• Jimi Hendrix – ‘Merry Christmas and Happy New Year’

  Recorded at Electric Ladyland in 1968, this 12" picture disc features Hendrix's recording of “Little Drummer Boy,” “Silent Night” and “Auld Lang Syne,” along with “Three Little Bears.”

• Tenacious D – “Don’t Blow It, Kage”

  This new track recorded at Third Man Records in Nashville was produced by Jack White marking the first collaboration between him and Jack Black.

• Steppenwolf – ‘Steppenwolf’

  This reissue of 'Steppenwolf' marks the first time that album's been reissued since its original 1968 release. The album is pressed on clear vinyl and in mono.
• Chuck Berry – ‘Chuck Berry in London’

  First released in 1965, this marks the first reissue of 'Chuck Berry in London' in over 50 years.

• U2 – ‘Three’

  A 12" vinyl reissue of their debut EP, U2's 'Three' has been remastered with only 7,000 copies pressed.

• The Pretenders – ‘UK Singles 1979-1981-

  This 7" vinyl box set features The Pretenders' first eight singles released in the U.K. in honor of the 40th anniversary of the release of their first single "Stop Your Sobbing."
• Bad Company – ‘Live at Red Rocks’

  Recorded at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater in May 2016, this double-LP is appropriately pressed red vinyl.

• Cheap Trick – ‘Are You Ready? Live 12/31/10979’

  Recorded at The Forum in Los Angeles, this is the first time this Cheap Trick concert has ever been released, which features some of their biggest hits including “I Want You To Want Me,” “Surrender,” and “Clock Strikes Ten."

• Alice Cooper – ‘Billion Dollar Babies Live’

  Recorded live at the Sam Houston Coliseum in Houston, Texas on April 28, 1973, this album was previously released as part of the deluxe CD reissue of 'Billion Dollar Babies' in 2001. This is the first vinyl release of this LP.
• The Runaways – ‘Live in Japan’

  The only live album from the influential Runaways, 'Live in Japan' features the original lineup playing some of their biggest hits including "Cherry Bomb," "Queens Of Noise" and "Neon Angels On The Road To Ruin."

• Pearl Jam – ‘MTV Unplugged (3/16/1992)’

  Featuring all seven songs from Pearl Jam's episode of 'MTV Unplugged,' this is the first time this set has been released on vinyl.

• The Doors – ‘Live At The Isle of Wight Festival 1970’

  This performance from The Doors was the last from the band outside the United States before Jim Morrison's death. This is also the first vinyl release of this album.
• Slipknot – “All Out Life”/”Unsainted”

  This 7" picture disc is the first physical U.S. elease of the stand-alone single "All Out LIfe."
