In case you didn’t know…the fifth (and possibly final installment) of Indiana Jones is hurdling at us like a giant boulder as the new movie comes out in June! Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will more than likely be Harrison Ford’s swan song as the famed archaeologist and adventurer who also moonlights in beating bad guy ass.

In fact, Ford has recently stated in interviews that when he decides to hang up the hat and whip, Indiana Jones will officially be done. Of course, that doesn’t mean that Lucasfilm won’t want to make future editions of the series. But Ford maintains that you can bring in newer characters, but only he is Indiana Jones.

Indiana was first created by George Lucas (of Star Wars fame), who pitched the idea to his friend Steven Spielberg (Jaws) when George asked Steven what project Steven wanted to do next. Spielberg told Lucas that he had always wanted to direct a James Bond movie. George countered with an idea about an adventurer named Indiana Smith (it was later changed to “Jones”) who travels the world, searching for iconic historic artifacts, all the while beating up villains. Spielberg was all in.

I simply cannot wait for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny to come out. It will hit theaters on June 30th (next month!) and I’ll be getting tickets for the midnight showing on night one, baby!
