Here are some of my favorite places to watch Sunday Football In Toms River. While they are all placed behind my couch, sometimes ya gotta get out! Over the years football watching has changed dramatically both at home and at the bar. The advent of affordable big-screen HD televisions, and surround sound has made at-home viewing much more enjoyable. Thus bars and restaurants have to work harder to get the viewing audience.
Bars Offer Something You Can’t Get At Home
While a bar or pub might not be able to offer a football junkie all the comforts of home, some come pretty damn close. Plus, there is one thing I enjoy about going out to watch Sunday Football in Toms River that I can’t get at home. A room full of like-minded crazy individuals screaming at the screen! Don’t get me wrong, my wife and son do a pretty good job of it at our town home. However, when you get 30 or so Jets, Giants, or Eagles fans together in a room with good grub and beers?
Well, my friend that’s America at its finest! Furthermore, depending on the bar, it’s not just the locals that swarm in for comradery. With YouTube TV now controlling the NFL Sunday Ticket For home viewing, Direct TV has been going hard to get the Ticket into as many bars and restaurants as possible. So for the most part, wherever you decide to go, your team will be on one of the giant HDTV screens in the establishment.
Remembering 6 Great Bars I Miss In Toms River
My Criteria
When I do venture out to watch Sunday Football in Toms River, I like to go to places I feel comfortable in. What does that mean? Sight lines are important to me. I want to be able to see the team, (in my case the Jets), from multiple angles from my seat at the bar or table. I also want to be able to see as many of the other games as possible just to keep an eye on my fantasy players.
Food and beer are obviously important as well. I’ll usually go with what’s on special on tap. The wife is more of a wine drinker when we watch Sunday Football in Toms River. Food-wise, I like a good cheap football menu. You don’t have to wow me. Hot dogs, sliders, pork roll & cheese, all are appreciated. Of course, you know I love my wings too. However, recently with inflation the way it is, I’ve seen too much bread on the football special menus. Nowadays a typical 6-10 dollar football foodie menu will have pretzels, bread sticks, flatbreads, pizzas etc. I get it, it’s better for the bottom line, but, that’s a lot of bread.
Anyway here, in no particular order is a list of my top 8 places to watch Sunday Football in Toms River. Maybe I’ll see you on a stool nearby this season! Just go easy on the pretzels.
