K/DA Give Us “MORE”, Featuring New League of Legends Champion Seraphine
October 28th, 2020
With the World’s Finals for League of Legends this weekend, fans expected a new track from the K/DA, Riot Game’s digital girl group. What they got was “More”. The new jam follows up on their track “The Baddest” and features the new champion, Seraphine. “More” is the first full video created for the group’s EP “All Out” that’s due to drop on November 6th.

What We Asked For
At the end of the day, K/DA is a marketing passion project for League of Legends. Riot Games’ intuitive knowledge of the esports space also means they know what esports “sounds” like as well. With “More” they continue to blur the lines between content, marketing, and actual music-making. It’s a fantastic project that fans can only feel great about. This time around, the original voices of K/DA return to lend their talents to the project. SOYEON and MIYEON of (G)I-DLE provide vocals for Akali and Ahri as they always have. But Madison Beer and Jaira Burns come back to voice Evelynn and Kai’sa. The track itself is more aggressive than “POP/STARS”, their original single. That seems to run through “The Baddest” as well, making them feel like what a K-Pop group from America would sound like. It’s fascinating.
Also, featured on background vocals and a bridge is Seraphine. She’s voiced by Chinese artist and model, Lexie Liu and marks the first time Mandarin is spoken in a K/DA track. The move makes perfect sense as the Finals for League take place in Shanghai this year. Seraphine is one of the most interesting experiments from a video game company to date. She has full-blown social media accounts, she blocks toxic people, posts “behind the scenes” pics of the K/DA collective. It’s all very cool, yet bizarre and wildly effective. To date, she has 330k followers on Twitter and 340k on Instagram.

Seraphine is also the newest champion in the game, she’s a support champion that specializes in using music to inspire her team. She’s VERY similar to another champion, Sona, but we’ll see what adjustments might come for her in the future.
The World’s Finals for League take place Saturday, October 31st at 6 AM Eastern Time. In it, the home country team of Sunning Gaming will take on Korean powerhouse, Damwon Gaming. There’s sure to be an amazing opening ceremony and musical performances before the match. So if you can set your alarm and wake up in time, you’ll be in for a great show.
