Soundgarden Launch New Social Media Accounts As ‘Nude Dragons’
The surviving members of Soundgarden have shown some interesting activity on social media as of late.
New Twitter and Instagram accounts have been launched under the name “Nude Dragons,” which is an anagram for Soundgarden. The band famously performed under the Nude Dragons name back in 2010 at a show in Seattle, which marked the first time Soundgarden had performed on stage in 13 years.
Not much has been shared on either social media channel aside from some selfies of Kim Thayil, Matt Cameron and Ben Shepard, but fans will likely keep a close eye on these accounts from now on.
This has been the latest activity from the band that doesn’t involve lawsuits. The members of Soundgarden are currently in the middle of a messy legal battle with Vicky Cornell, the widow of Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell. The band is suing Vicky Cornell and the estate of Chris Cornell “accusing them of ‘fraudulent inducement’ for allegedly using revenue intended to be raised for charity for ‘personal purposes for herself and her family.'”
Legal issues between Soundgarden and Vicky Cornell first began in December 2019. Vicky Cornell filed a lawsuit accusing the band of withholding “hundreds of thousands of dollars” worth of royalties in an “unlawful attempt to strong-arm Chris’ Estate into turning over certain audio recordings created by Chris before he passed away.”
In February 2020, Soundgarden responded to Vicky Cornell’s lawsuit claiming that recordings being withheld are actually the property of the band. They also denied her claim the band was withholding any royalties and state they haven’t received any royalties either until “the Partnership, by vote of the Remaining Partners, formally elects to make such a distribution.”
