Spotify Sued For $1.6 Billion
Well…the New Year is off to a very rocky start for Spotify.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, the popular music streaming service is being sued by Wixen Music Publishing for a whopping $1.6 billion for streaming thousands of songs “without a license and compensations. Those thousands of songs include various tracks from Tom Petty, The Doors, Steely Dan, Weezer, Neil Young, Stevie Nicks and Rage Against The Machine to name just a handful.
Spotify was hit with three other copyright/licensing lawsuits in 2016.
