PNC Bank Arts Center Concert Schedule 2024.

Lots of great shows coming to the PNC Bank Arts Center this 2024 concert season. I remember when this place used to be called The Garden State Arts Center.

Jane Foderago says The Garden State Arts Center opened on June 12, 1968, with a program featuring pianist Van Cliburn, conductor Eugene Ormandy, and the Philadelphia Orchestra. The Arts Center was operated in conjunction with the New Jersey Highway Authority, which also ran the Parkway.

I interviewed Point Pleasant’s own Dean DeLeo, the lead guitarist for Stone Temple Pilots and he was sharing some of his personal history attending shows at the Garden State Arts Center with his family.

One of his first recollections was seeing the Carpenters when he was 10 years old back in the summer of 72. The Carpenters were a huge act in the 70’s.

My husband also shared memories of his first show as a kid at the Garden State Arts Center. His first show was back in 1970 seeing Sammy Davis Jr. who did a week-long residency at the time.

Back in those days, people would dress up to go to a concert event at the Arts Center. Men in jackets and ties, women in dresses, skirts, or pantsuits.

Nowadays, we just throw on whatever’s comfortable. If you’re going to be outdoors for a show, it’s best to be comfortable.

I lost count of how many shows I’ve seen at the Arts Center over the last 28 years. Its’ got to be hundreds!

The WRAT van is almost always on-site for rock shows.

This year I count at least 20 shows I’d like to attend. I will be showing up for at least 10 of those shows including WRATFEST 2024: Rob Zombie, Alice Cooper: Freaks On Parade Tour with special guests Ministry & Filter on September 7th.     Third Eye Blind’s musical style has been described as pop rock, alternative rock, post-grunge, pop punk, and power pop. Singer, Stephen Jenkins noted that he was influenced by The Clash, Jane’s Addiction, and Camper Van Beethoven.

    With: Charlie Sexton
    Did you know: Elvis Costello and Daryl Hall collaborated back in 1984 on the former’s single “The Only Flame in Town,” which appears on Costello’s ninth studio album, Goodbye Cruel World. That LP was recorded with Costello’s early band the Attractions.

    Fans of Santana can expect high-energy, passion-filled songs from the entirety of their 50-year career from Woodstock to Supernatural.

    The Queens of R&B celebrating a sisterhood & paying homage to R&B girl groups and musicians of the ’90s who continue to have an impact.  Members of Xscape including Kandi Burruss, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle and Tamika Scott are set to headline along with the original women of SWV — Cheryl “Coko” Gamble, Leanne “Lelee” Lyons and Tamara “Taj” Johnson.

    Red Rocker Sammy Hagar has had a killer career as a solo artist, as the frontman of Van Halen, and as the leader of the band The Circle with has Van Halen brother, Michael Anthony.  On this tour, Sammy will go deep into the Van Halen catalogue as well as his solo career with help from guitar virtuoso, Joe Satriani, Michael Anthony on bass, and Jason Bonham behind the drum kit.

    This band has been going strong for over 50 years. There won’t be a single person in the audience who isn’t singing along to their huge list of hits like, September, Boogie Wonderland, Shining Star, and After The Love is Gone.

  • SUNDAY AUGUST 4, 2024 - IMAGINE DRAGONS - LOOM WORLD TOUR

    Show at 7:00pm

    The Las Vegas rockers will perform at the PNC Banks Art’s Center, which is part of the group’s 29-date tour in support of its new album “Loom.” Tickets for the show go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday 4/26/24, with pre-sales starting at 10 a.m. Tuesday 4/23/24.

    The band continues to set the concert stage on fire with their blistering set of music.
