Looking For Great Gourmet & Specialty Food Shops In Monmouth County? Then You Need This List.

I love going on the hunt for specialty food shops when I plan on making an exceptional meal. I can make chicken, meat, or fish in a dozen different ways that are considered standard fare or I can make an out-of-the-ordinary, noteworthy dish that wows my guests.

Thanks to my friend Tom for going out and testing the waters, I now have a new place to add to my list.

Wild Fork In Eatontown. They carry high-quality meats, poultry, and fish, along with specialty meats like ostrich, alligator, and wild boar.

Wild Fork joins a large list of many places to shop in Monmouth County for fresh produce, meat, pasta, hard-to-find items that regular grocery stores don’t carry, and even gift baskets.

  • Wild Fork - 151 NJ-35, Eatontown, NJ 07724

    I had very little money on my first visit to this new store. I spent $59 and got enough meat for a week. It’s a good thing because I also had very little room in my freezer. Next time, I’m coming with a heavy wallet and a near-empty freezer.

    A few years ago, my husband and I found this quaint specialty olive oil and gourmet food store up near Rhinebeck N.Y. that I fell in love with, and now I needed to find one closer to home. Right down the road from where I work, I came upon a similar place that sells the world’s finest olive oils, vinegar, gourmet foods, and more!

    Sure I can make my own ravioli and homemade pasta, but when time is an issue, this place has what I need. They’re more than just ravioli.

    They offer specialty cheeses, cured meats, tasty sandwiches, homemade prepared foods, fresh bread, and specialty grocery items.   Custom cheese & charcuterie/antipasti boards for all occasions. Catering is available.

    Fresh produce, a bakery on premises with fresh pastries and bread that are either baked in-house or delivered daily. Weddings, birthdays, or other cakes are also available upon request. A large variety of authentic groceries and specialty items including spices, tofu, dried fruits, noodles, seaweeds, brown rice, and frozen items imported from various Asian countries.

  • Livoti's Old World Market - 1077 NJ-34, Aberdeen Township, NJ 07747 with locations in Freehold, Marlboro, & Middletown

    I discovered Livoti’s in Aberdeen back in 2014 and fell in love. They have a butcher, gourmet pastries, amazing charcuterie and specialty cheeses, farm fresh produce, fresh seafood, Italian imported specialty groceries, and brick oven pizza.

    Formerly Dean’s Natural Market. It’s more than just healthy food. All organic produce, locally produced honey, ready-to-go healthy foods, and more.

    I’ve heard people call this place Delicious Orchards “light.”  You’ll find specialty food items,  a garden center, fresh produce, meat, deli, and seafood departments,  baked goods, prepared foods, and more.

  • Freddy's On Monmouth - 52 Monmouth Rd, Oakhurst, NJ 07755

    Freddy’s is your stop if you’re looking for Kosher items. They carry meat, seafood, and poultry. Cheese, nuts, sushi, produce, soups, spices, fresh salads, and more. The soups are made by the owner’s wife, and they have fresh meals to go.

    This place does a ton of catering. The bread and pastries are baked fresh on a daily basis. They have prosciutto bread that you’d kill for. Fresh meats and poultry as well as fresh produce, sandwiches, salads, and custom gift baskets.

  • Sickles Market - 1 Harrison Ave, Little Silver, NJ 07739

    This place needs no introduction or description to long-time Monmouth County residents. Since 1908, Sickle’s Market has become a favorite destination for fresh produce, plants, gourmet specialties, and gifts at the Jersey Shore.
