Newark Restaurant Named Best Seafood Spot in N.J.

A Newark restaurant has been named the best seafood spot in New Jersey. 24/7 Tempo ranked the best seafood restaurants across the country and Sol- Mar Restaurant, a locally and family-owned Portuguese and Mediterranean-style seafood restaurant came out on top as the Garden State’s top seafood eatery.

Sol-Mar Restaurant is located in Newark, N.J. at 267 Ferry St. in the Ironbound section. The restaurant is right between the Newark International Airport and Newark Penn Station, two hotspot travel locations. The restaurant has plenty of space for you and your family to dine as they have one large dining area and two more intimate spaces.

Some popular main dishes include Portuguese-style cod grilled octopus, grilled halibut, and Chilean sea bass. They also offer catering and special party menus for your next big occasion.

According to the restaurant’s website, Sol-Mar Restaurant has been a Newark staple since 1957.

The hours of operation are as follows:

Lunch
Monday – Saturday 11:30am to 4:00pm

Dinner
Monday -Thursday 4:00pm to 11:00pm
Friday – Saturday 4:00pm to 12:00pm

Sunday 11:30am – 11:00pm
