Hear Metallica’s ‘Master of Puppets’ in the Style of Slipknot
What would it sound like if Metallica and Slipknot came together for a tune? Well, now we kind of have the answer to that pressing question.
TikTok and YouTube star Devin Taylor has posted a version of Metallica’s “Master of Puppets” in the style of Slipknot. The final listen is deafening. The Metallica classic is fleshed out with dark, heavy guitars and a double-kick that is simply pulsating.
“If slipknot wrote master of puppets it’d be better than this, but here’s my take!,” Taylor wrote on his social media platforms before sitting down and launching into the brutal version. Watch the action below.
Previous videos from Taylor include a fun Red Hot Chili Peppers cover in the style of Eddie Van Halen and a metal-happy cover of “Jingle Bells.”
In other news, Metallica’s “Master of Puppets” recently entered the Billboard Hot 100 Chart for the first time thanks to its use in the season four finale of Stranger Things. There’s been a lot of love shared between Metallica and the Netflix series for the past month and a half, from the band releasing their own Hellfire Club merch to Eddie Munson appearing on screen during Metallica's headlining set at Lollapalooza.
