Vinnie Paul Cookbook Finally Available
The late, great Vinne Paul loved cooking up some good food, and finally, his long-in-the-works cookbook is available for purchase.
The aptly named Drumming Up An Appetite with Vinnie Paul is for sale on Z2Comincs.com. The standard edition of the cookbook is $29.99, while a deluxe bundle featuring special Vinnie Paul napkins, an apron, and a “cooking diploma” retails for $79.99.
Per the cookbook’s description, Drumming Up An Appetite was written before Vinnie Paul’s death in 2018 at age 54. It features over 40 “original Abbott Family recipes” and has a foreword written by Carrot Top, a close friend of Vinnie’s who was also a neighbor in Las Vegas.
In a quote from 2015, Vinnie Paul said of the book, “It’s all about cooking and having fun with it. A lot of people think cooking is throwing something in the microwave. It’s something that you’ve really got to be passionate about, just like playing an instrument. If you put your heart and soul into it, and then you feed it to people, and you’re [like], ‘Oh, man! This is so good.’ It makes you feel good. It’s just like playing music; [people say] ‘G-damn, I love this sh-t!”
Meanwhile, the legacy of Vinnie Paul lives on via the reformation of Pantera, which features Phil Anselmo, Rex Brown, Zakk Wylde, and Charlie Benante. Last month, they announced a headlining U.S. tour consisting of 29 shows running from July 15 in Burgettstown, Pa. until Sept. 13 in West Palm Beach, Fla.
