Anthony Kiedis Biopic in the Works
Anthony Kiedis is going to be the subject of a new biopic, which will be based on his 2004 memoir Scar Tissue.
According to Deadline, Universal Pictures has optioned the right to Scar Tissue. The biopic will be produced by Brian Grazer, Guy Oseary and Kiedis. Currently, the film is in the early development stages. There is no known timeline for production or release and no known casting details.
Scar Tissue was a success and topped The New York Times Best Seller List. The book delves into Kiedis’ long history of drug addiction dating back to his childhood.
In 2016, Kiedis told U.K.’s The Sun that he had some regret in writing the book because ” … there was some pain caused.” However, he later saw it had a positive effect on some people.
Kiedis said, ” … Whatever shame, pain or difficulty or discomfort I went through, then it was worth it because I get so many people coming up to me saying their kids had read it and got their act together because of it.”
