Corey Taylor Releases New Solo Track ‘HWY 666’
Corey Taylor has released the third track from his debut solo album with “HWY 666.”
Premiering along with a dark animated video by Toon53 Productions, “HWY 666” offers a whole new genre layer to Taylor’s album, CMFT, and sounds like the bastard stepchild of ‘The Devil Went Down To Georgia’ (but in a good way.) Adding to previously released tracks like the rap/rock anthem “CMFT Must Be Stopped” and the radio-friendly love song “Black Eyes Blue,” and it’s clear Taylor is calling on a diverse collection of influences for the album.
Taylor touched on his diverse musical tastes and influences in a recent appearance on Talkin’ Rock with Meltdown where he said, “”For me, it was more about really getting everything out of my career with both bands before I even considered doing something like this. For me, this is a way of sharing stuff with the fanbase that I’ve spent 20 years building. And really maybe even filling in a piece of the musical puzzle. ‘Cause people, when I tell them the stuff that I listen to, they can’t wrap their head around it because of the two bands that I’m a part of, and yet when they hear this album and they hear the things that I’ve written, it will all of a sudden make sense.”
CMFT is due out October 2 and is currently available for pre-order with exclusive formats and bundles at TheCoreyTaylor.com. CMFT is also available for pre-save on major digital platforms here.
