Sam Elliott Reciting The Lyrics To ‘Old Town Road’ Is Amazing
We don’t know who will win the Super Bowl, but this commercial is sure to be one of the things that everyone’s talking about on Super Bowl Sunday.
Sam Elliott, famous for playing “The Stranger” in The Big Lebowski, is featured in a Doritos commercial, where he recites the lyrics to Lil Nas X’s massive 2019 hit, “Old Town Road.” The lyrics are a bit scarier, coming from him.
“I got the horses in the back,” he growls. “Horse tack is attached. Hat is matte black. I got the boots that’s black to match. Ridin’ on a horse. Ha! You can whip your Porsche. I been in the valley. You ain’t been up off that porch, now. Can nobody tell me nothing. You can’t tell me nothing.”
After that, you can hear the “Old Town Road” bass line as Elliott makes his exit.
Doritos noted that the ad is a “teaser” for another commercial coming on Super Bowl Sunday. Well, like the Stranger said, “Sometimes you eat the bar and sometimes the bar eats you.” We’re still trying to figure that one out, but Doritos clearly hopes that everyone will be eating their cool ranch chips after seeing this commercial.
