VIDEO: Stephen Colbert Pays Tribute to Ric Ocasek
Stephen Colbert took a moment on last night’s episode of The Late Show to pay tribute to Ric Ocasek.
Colbert recalled visiting New York City for the first time and Ocasek being the first celebrity he saw. He said, “I was down in Greenwich Village, getting a cup of coffee, sitting on the sidewalk and Ric f—ing Ocasek walked by, and I went, ‘I have to move here. Ric Ocasek lives here!'” Colbert then gushed about The Cars’ 1978 classic self-titled debut calling it and the band’s following three albums “the soundtrack of my high school.”
The highlight of the video below is Colbert looking back on a clip from The Colbert Report where Ocasek took part in a silly comedy bit, yet again proving why he was one of rock’s coolest figures.
