Papa Roach Drop New Video for “Elevate”
Papa Roach has just released the video for “Elevate,” the fourth video from their latest album, Who Do You Trust?
The song’s overwhelmingly upbeat and inspiring message is a reflection of the band’s tenth studio album as a whole. Papa Roach changed things up in recording Who Do You Trust?, and when he appeared on Talkin’ Rock with Meltdown, Jacoby Shaddix explained how those changes affected the sound of the album:
“We’ve never written and recorded an album during the summertime. We always write and record during the winter, for some reason just because of touring cycles. And so that, I believe, had an effect on the recording of this record.
We were North Hollywood, and we ordered in two tons of sand and had it dumped in the parking lot [of the recording studio], so we could have a beach in the parking lot. We spent a lot of time outside on our beach with acoustic guitars and sitting around a fire and writing riffs and just kind of doing it a bit of a different way. It really proved to have a different vibe to the record.
There’s a lot more stuff that’s in a major key, so it’s got a little bit more of an uplifting sound at times. That’s exciting to kind of take turns like that and have a record that really takes you on a journey, and this one, I’d say, definitely does.”
Papa Roach will embark on a U.K./European tour beginning in April through June, with sporadic U.S. festival dates in between before returning stateside for a tour with Asking Alexandria and Bad Wolves beginning in July. A full tour itinerary can be found at PapaRoach.com.
