8 Rolling Stones Songs Steven Tyler Should Cover
Steven Tyler recently revealed he recorded a cover of the Rolling Stones classic “Brown Sugar.” Naturally, this led to thinking about what other Stones tracks we’d like to hear covered by the “Demon of Screamin’.”
Here are eight suggestions.
“Sway”
“Brown Sugar” is track one on Sticky Fingers, but Tyler should give the album’s bluesy second track a whirl.
“It’s Only Rock ‘n Roll (But I Like It)”
It’s a rip-roaring anthem, and Tyler could crush it.
“Love Is Strong”
Definitely one of the Stones’ underrated singles that’s just a killer groove.
“Let It Bleed”
Dark and dirty. That’s “Let It Bleed” in a nutshell, which is also how one could describe Steven Tyler.
“Waiting on a Friend”
Honestly, this made the list because I’m curious how Tyler would sing that high-pitched “ooh, ooh” hook. Also, it’s just a great song about the values of friendship. Who can’t get behind that?
“Undercover of the Night”
A standout track for the Stones because of its political message, with some lyric altering to make the track reflect our current times, this has the potential to be a biting cover.
“Anybody Seen My Baby?”
Undeniably cool and longing, Tyler could easily put his own spin on this single off of Bridges to Babylon.
“Sweet Virginia”
A country ballad off of Exile on Main St., this would make for an amazing cover from Tyler considering his recent foray into country music.
