Lars Ulrich’s Highlight of 2017? Becoming “Sir Lars”
Metallica had a big 2017, but there was one very unique highlight that seems appropriate to mention today (December 26) on Lars Ulrich’s birthday.
In June of this year, Ulrich was knighted in Denmark, the country where he was born. Metallica’s Instagram page shared the photo below with the caption, “Does this really mean we must address him as Sir Lars now? Congrats to Lars as he was knighted last night by Frederik, Crown Prince of Denmark. Not bad for a snot-nosed kid from Gentofte!”
Two observations about this photo:
- The medal Lars received looks really cool.
- The only way the denim jacket Frederik, Crown Prince of Demark is wearing could be cooler is if it had a big ass Metallica back patch. Seriously…how amazing would it be if there was a vintage “Metal Up Your Ass” patch on the back?!
