Liam Gallagher on Adjusting to Working Solo
Out today (October 6) is As You Were, the first-ever solo album by Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher.
Gallagher has been releasing singles from the 12-songs set since the beginning of June, and deluxe box set edition of the album features an art print by Beatles‘ “Revolver” artist Klaus Voorman.
Gallagher co-wrote songs with co-producer Greg Kurstin and other, along with four tracks on his own, and he tells us it was an adjustment to do something solo after tenures with Oasis and the subsequent Beady Eye:
“I guess I never really wanted to do all this solo stuff, but I guess it’s my last chance to really make music, do you know what I mean? I guess that’s what took so long. I mean, it’s like it’s not something I really, really, really saw meself doing, but I guess I got easy. I got Beady Eye, there’s no point in starting a new band because it’s only gonna get compared to Oasis, so I might as well do this solo thing. But it feels pretty natural to me.”
Gallagher will perform Saturday (October 7) at the Cal Jam festival in San Bernardino and has shows in the U.K. and the Arab Emirates before starting a short North American tour on November 13 in San Francisco.
