WATCH: Chris Cornell’s Daughter Joins OneRepublic In Tribute Performance To Father, Chester Bennington
Get your tissues.
Linkin Park was slated to perform on Good Morning America today (August 4) as part of the “GMA Summer Concert Series,” but obviously backed out due to the sudden death of Chester Bennington. OneRepublic stepped in as GMA’s musical guest and not only paid tribute to Bennington but also Chris Cornell with help from the late singer’s 12-year-old daughter, Toni, in singing the Leonard Cohen classic “Hallelujah.”
It’s a beyond moving tribute, especially considering that Bennington and Linkin Park guitarist Brad Delson performed the song at Cornell’s own funeral.
We have no idea how Toni Cornell was able to get through the song, because it’s difficult to get through watching the video below without getting emotional.
