There’s probably only one thing on your mind right about now and that’s your Thanksgiving dinner. While you’ve most likely heard a complaint or two over the last few weeks about grocery prices, we’re here to cover the key findings by state.

Unfortunately, New Jersey is among the list of most expensive states to purchase a turkey in for 2022. FinanceBuzz recently released a Thanksgiving study that reveals the costs based on the average price per pound for a 15-pound frozen turkey.

New Jersey is priced at $37.35 along with Georgia, Washington, New York, Massachusetts, and California. Researchers at FinanceBuzz obtained prices of turkeys from regional, chain grocery stores with multiple locations in a state or prominent national chains in order to compile the data below.

While Hawaii is paying 47% above the national average for a turkey this year, it’s more affordable for those down south with it being $7 cheaper to provide for a home-cooked meal.

We hope all of the chefs at home this year got a hold of their turkey just in time for the big feast. Scroll below to see where turkey is the most expensive across the United States.
