Patriot Games Harrison Ford (who has plenty of Irish blood in him) is CIA operative Jack Ryan as he battles Irish terrorists…and it bleeping rules. https://youtu.be/rmCx_G9beko 4.) State Of Grace It still bewilders me how many people have not seen this incredible film. State Of Grace (released in 1990) is a killer flick about an Irish mob in Hell’s Kitchen and stars (check out this incredible cast) Sean Penn, Gary Oldman, Ed Harris, Robin Wright, John Turturro, John C. Reilly, and even Burgess Meredith (Mickey from the Rocky movies). It’s a modern masterpiece of Irish criminals and is worth watching! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PN_L96iEQfQ 3.) Gangs Of New York This classic film stars Irishman Daniel Day-Lewis in one of the truly greatest performances of his legendary career. Ironically, he was playing Bill “The Butcher”, an American native who despised the Dead Rabbits (an Irish gang led by Leonardo Di Caprio) and Irish immigrants in general. This film is absolutely amazing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHVUPri5tjA 2.) The Departed The Departed teamed up Irish-American Jack Nicholson and Martin Scorcese for the first time ever. Set in Boston, the movie deals with the Irish mob and is utterly brilliant. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iojhqm0JTW4 1.) Miller’s Crossing Quite frankly, this is the single greatest Irish gangster film ever. Miller’s Crossing is directed by the incredible Coen Brothers and stars Irishman Gabriel Byrne in the lead role…with fantastic supporting performances from Albert Finney, Marcia Gay Harden, John Turturro, and Steve Buscemi. It is an intricate and mesmerizing film that is utterly glorious. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KsalxvmHfM
