Carole Baskin: Tricked Into An Interview By Two YouTubers Pretending To Be Jimmy Fallon
Carole Baskin has been pretty quiet since the release of Tiger King, but was all ready to give her first interview to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Unfortunately, she was completely bamboozled, and the interview she gave was with two YouTubers who have no association with The Tonight Show.
Josh Pieters and Archie Manners posted a video of the epic prank they played on Carole Baskin. In it, they show how they tricked her into thinking she was sitting down for her first interview since the documentary aired with Jimmy Fallon. In the video, the pair also showed the lengths they went through to deceive the big cat activist.
“Like Tiger King, this is a story of loopholes, lawyers, and lies,” the pair explain before revealing how they pulled the prank off. They show step-by-step how they contacted Carole, did pre-interviews, and even how they used old soundbites of Jimmy to make the interview appear real. It’s pretty elaborate and pretty genius.
Since finding out that she got tricked, Carole has had no hard feelings. She told E! News that she was suspicious of the interview but still had fun. “I was suspicious as we were doing it because the questions appeared taped,” she shared. “But had no idea it would turn out to be such a fun prank. It gave us a very welcome good laugh. I appreciate their cleverness and that they created their video in a way that I don’t feel was in any way mean spirited.”
