We are Loving the Smiling Volcano in Hawaii
Typically, when you think of a volcano, you think of something dangerous and scary. After looking at the Kilauea volcano in Hawaii, your thoughts about the hot lava may change. At the moment, this volcano is the most active in the world and is in the process of erupting.
In a video, taken from a helicopter, you can see the volcano is starting to cross paths with the Pacific Ocean. According to Thillist, “this is the first time since 2013” that the smoking hot lava has hit the ocean. This is not the first time this volcanic eruption has happened. Since 1983, the lava was slowly been spewing out within the area.
As the camera was documenting the eruption, there was something odd about one of the craters. In the over 80-foot deep crater, it looks as though the lava is smiling back to the camera. The pleasant, yet extremely hot substance looks as though it is attempting to greet the camera crew into its home.
Since the volcano is slowly erupting, tourists and locals are allowed to walk next to the lava. As noted by the United States Geological Survey, they recommend all individuals who want to see the natural occurrence to bring a lot of water.
So, needless to say, if you are venturing to see the smiling volcano, be careful and smart about the area. After all, it is lava!
