Good morning, Sports fans! It’s your buddy Davey Mac here and we’re back from the weekend with a fun Sports Report for ya! We’ve got Britney Spears making an appearance! Tom Brady news! And more! But first!
OK, Yankee fans…enough’s enough and we want solutions to the mess in the Bronx. We’ve reached the All Star break and the Yanks are currently in fourth place in the American League East. Quite frankly, they look like poop. And now we’re hearing that Yankees General Manager Brian Cashman has just fired the hitting coach, Dillon Lawson, because of the team’s poor offense.

Well, not so fast, Cashman. Did you forget that YOU decided NOT to acquire brilliant superstar (and left-handed hitter) Bryce Harper when he was a free agent who kept saying how he wanted to be on the Yankees? Harper told the press that he grew up idolizing Mickey Mantle and always wanted to wear pinstripes. And yet, for some inexplicable reason, Cashman never made a serious offer to Harper…and the slugger went to Philly…where he quickly won an MVP award.

Where does manager Aaron Boone stand in all of this? While I personally have never blamed Boone…my reasoning is that he’s not at fault for this terrible lineup that Cashman is constructed…one still has to think that Boone is feeling the fire as well.

But, I have another Yankee front office stooge that I’d like to throw under the bus. And that man is Hal Steinbrenner. Hal has simply not made the big deals that his father George would have made to push the Yanks over to the top and into another World Series banner. Hal appears to not have that special competitive gene that his father had.

Either way, the fans deserve better than 4th place and a very boring lineup. It’s time to clean house…the only problem…maybe we should sweep ALL of the front office guys under the carpet! I’m Davey Mac…that’s my two cents!
