Good morning, Leias and Jedimen!   It’s your pal Darth David here and it’s Star Wars Day!   May the Fourth be with you!

It’s a time to celebrate the Galaxy which is far, far away and all the wonderful things that come with it: aliens, spaceships, bizarre planets, creatures and monsters, lasers, and…of course…lightsabers!

Honestly…the lightsaber has to be the most iconic weapon in cinematic history.   Maybe you could throw in Indiana Jones’ whip or something…but nothing comes close to the legendary lightsaber.  You can just listen to it and know that it’s on and ready for business…the very sound of the lightsaber is that famous.

So…we’re making a list…the Top Lightsaber Duels Ever…and while usually I only do Top 5’s…it’s Star Wars Day, baby!   There’s just too many great fights to ignore!   We’re going with NINE duels in honor of the RAT and also as a tribute to how many episodic Saga films exist!   Watch Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Darth Vader, and more engage in epic lightsaber battles that will leave your jaw on the floor.

    Kylo Ren has renounced his Dark Side was and embraced his heritage as Ben Solo (Han and Leia’s son) as he whoops his former bad guy security force!

  • 8.) Yoda Vs. Count Dooku (Episode II: Attack Of The Clones)

    This is simple: it’s the first time we ever saw Yoda wield a lightsaber onscreen…and it is awesome.   He takes on the sinister Count Dooku in this battle.

  • 7.) Yoda Vs. The Emperor (Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith)

    Yoda is back at it again but this time…he’s taking on the most formidable Sith Lord in the Galaxy…Emperor Palpatine!   It’s like Ali-Frazier of lightsaber duels!

  • 6.) Obi Wan Kenobi Vs. Darth Vader (Episode IV: A New Hope)

    An older Obi-Wan Kenobi confronts Darth Vader on the Death Star in this historic matchup which is also the first lightsaber duel that audiences saw.

  • 5.) Luke Vs. Vader II (Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi)

    Luke Skywalker takes on Darth Vader for a second time in this pivotal battle between father and son.

  • 4.) Rey & Kylo Ren Vs. Praetorian Guards (Episode VIII: The Last Jedi)

    Kylo Ren and Rey team up to eliminate Snoke’s Praetorian Guards in this thrilling and badass scene.

  • 3.) Luke Vs. Vader I (Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back)

    This is the first time Luke confronts Vader…and learns a rather unfortunate family secret!

  • 2.) Obi-Wan Kenobi & Qui-Gon Jinn Vs. Darth Maul (Episode I: The Phantom Menace)

    It’s an amazing duel as Jedi Knights Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan go against Darth Maul and his menacing double-sided Sith saber.

  • 1.) Obi-Wan Kenobi Vs. Anakin Skywalker (Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith)

    It doesn’t get better than this.   The ultimate confrontation between close friends Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker (who has just turned to the Dark Side).   It’s a duel so epic it needs to videos to get it all!   Enjoy!   May the Fourth be with you!
