Good morning, Leias and Jedimen! And if you’re a Star Wars fan like myself…then you’re knee-deep in The Mandalorian right now! And that’s because Season 3 of this excellent show has concluded and we’ve got our review!
The eight-episode season was one that greatly expanded on the mythology of the Mandalorians themselves and their home planet of Mandalore. Din Djarin (THE Mandalorian) and his little buddy Grogu were actually the key to uniting this once-great society. They were able to bring traditional Mandalorians and extreme (cultish) Mandalorians together by forging an alliance between the two groups and their leaders (Bo Katan and The Armorer respectively).
And while this season had some weird cameos (Jack Black and Lizzo?) and some strange side-adventures…it ultimately was very enjoyable season. Creator Jon Favreau is a fantastic Star Wars story-teller…and loves the Saga in its purest form. We got fun stories and plenty of aliens, monsters, creatures, droids, spaceships, and all of the cool details that make Star Wars special.
The season’s last two episodes were especially enthralling and satisfying. We received an epic amount of action, amazing visuals, incredible battles, and perfect vintage Star Wars bad guys. The stakes were extremely high…but our herpes were up for the challenge.
As far as the Season 3 finale goes…it was perfect. Another masterpiece from Favreau and company. The episode felt huge and dangerous and yet ended in the brightest, sweetest way. Thumbs up.
So where do we go from here? Well, the next Star Wars tale to be told will be Ahsoka…which will exist in The Mandalorian timeline. Can’t wait! All in all…another great season with a classic finale from this superb show!
