I shop at a few different Aldi grocery stores. The one on Route 37 in Toms River (the one I shop at to most), the Aldi on Route 35 in Wall Twp ( the one I grab last minute items on my way home from work), and the Aldi on Route 70 in Brick ( I go there when I’m running Saturday errands.)

I like Aldi for certain things, I do not shop there exclusively. I also shop at Lidl, Trader Joe’s, and Shoprite.
Not every grocery store has absolutely everything I need, so I need to change it up. I am a very curious person and a champion comparison shopper.

Last weekend, on my way to doing my Saturday errands after hitting the gym, I decided to check out some of the Fall seasonal sweet treats offered by Aldi.

As I made my way around the store with phone camera in hand, I took photos of items that I thought looked tasty. I have tried a few of these treats in the past, but not all.
Every time I spotted a customer looking at these yummy looking seasonal treats, I stopped to chat.
Most everyone was nice, and willing to give me their opinions on the items they’ve tried before.
Not a single person told me to take a hike. I did get a few raised eyebrows when I was opening the freezer bins to take photos. I saw a woman look at her companion and point toward the weirdo taking photos of strudels and other seasonal offerings. I just smiled and waved hello and went about my task.

You already know that I bake like a maniac, that doesn’t mean I don’t ever purchase cakes, cookies, or pies. I do need a break every now and then.

Let’s take a look at the seasonal Fall sweet desserts and treats offered by Aldi this year.

Even this hard-core scratch baker takes a few short cuts every now and then. I made an Apple Cobbler with the salted caramel cookie dough that was out of this world. The recipe can be found HERE.
I am still working on something delicious to create another dessert with the Chocolate Chip Almond Brittle dough.

Caramel Apple Whipped Cheesecake

Sharon was a shopper who was kind enough to give me her opinion on this treat found in the frozen bins near the cheese case. She likes this a lot. She said, "If you're looking for a dense cheesecake, this isn't it." It's more like a lightly whipped filling with really good apple and caramel flavors on a cookie crust.

Cherry or Apple Mascarpone Strudel

The thing about these seasonal items is, they are only available in limited quantities, so you have to go as early in the season as possible.  They are described as, traditional German flaked puff pastry with apple or cherry and mascarpone cheese filling.  They need to be baked before eating, and they bake up nicely.I've tried the Premium Cherry Mascarpone Strudel and I really like it. The edges were crispy and the filling was soft and flavorful. If you love cherry and mascarpone, then this is a good choice.

Pumpkin Spice Whipped Cheesecake

Eileen, an Aldi shopper bought 2 of these cheesecakes! She and her family love the nice strong pumpkin spice flavor and the light creamy texture. She loves to add the pumpkin spice whipped dairy topping which you can find across from the frozen case where she got her pumpkin spice cheesecakes.

Vanilla Crème Brûlée

This is a specialty item, not necessarily a seasonal item. They sell these for a limited time throughout the year in different variations. The only issue you may have, is finding a heat source to create the caramelization needed to harden the sugar. Not everyone has a baby blowtorch in their kitchen. The package recommends sticking this baby under the broiler.

Mel was the guy who was happy to give me his opinion on these sweet little jars of goodness. Mel is in love! He buys as many as he can when they're available. He loves the creamy custard and can eat 2 or 3 after dinner.
