Good morning and welcome to another action-packed edition of the Sports Report!   I’m your trustworthy athletics correspondent, Davey Mac, here to give you the scores and news from yesterday!

But first!   Did you see that Ohio legalized sports gambling for the first time in state history?   Governor Mike DeWine signed it into effect in December.

And you know who made the first bet?   Well…of course…Pete Rose gets those honors!

The legendary Cincinnati Red stayed true to his love of gambling by putting money on the Reds to win the World Series this year!   The Reds, by the way, were an atrocious 62 and 100 in 2022.

Of course, Pete Rose was banned from Major League Baseball in 1989 due to illegally betting on…the Cincinnati Reds!   So, this seems like a little bit of a flipping of the bird from Mr. Rose.   We’ll see if Pete wins any money on Cincy this year…I highly doubt it, though.
