Good morning, Sports fans. It's your pal Davey Mac here and we've got a big Sports Report for ya today. But first...Mississippi State football head coach Mike Leach died unexpectedly on Monday night. He was 61 (heart issues have been the diagnosis thus far).
Leach was famous for being one of the great offensive innovators of this century. From Alabama's Nick Saban to the Arizona Cardinals' Kliff Kingsbury...football insiders in both college and the pro's credit Leach for creating a more contemporary, airborne brand of football.
He had breakthrough seasons and big-time success with Texas Tech, Washington State, and presently Mississippi State. But in addition to his football prowess...Leach was also known to be one of the most candid and humorous interviews of any coach in any Sports.
Whether Leach was talking about his favorite candies, which mascot would win in a fight, and why eloping is better than a wedding...Leach was like the Mark Twain of football. Extremely popular with players, fellow coaches, schools, and fans...Leach was a true college football legend and will be missed.
Check out a few of Coach Leach's most memorable interviews...and RIP, Mike.
