Good morning, Sports fans!   It’s your buddy Davey Mac here and the birds are whistling today…the sun is shining beautifully…and life is good.   Because the Yankees’ Aaron Judge has finally hit his 61st home run of the season…tying the legendary mark set by Roger Maris in 1961!

As a result, Judge is alongside Maris as having the most home runs in a single season in American League history.   Incidentally, Judge also ties Maris for most home runs in Yankee franchise history as well.   Judge now has seven games to play to break the record with #62.

If you missed it last night…here it is…check it out!

Roger Maris, Jr. was in attendance for the game, sitting next to Judge’s mom, and congratulated #99 when he hit the home run and again after the game.   Maris, Jr. also made news by saying that if Judge hits number 62…that Judge will be the real single season Home Run King…as Maris does not feel that Bonds, McGwire, and Sosa’s season totals should count since all three were even proven to or highly suspected to have done P.E.D.’s.

Speaking of Roger Maris…let’s check out the clip of his 61st home run as well in 1961.   Yankee legend Phil Rizzuto was on the play-by-play as this clip is iconic.   Who would have thought that after Maris hit 61 in ’61…we’d get another 61 homers by a Yankee…SIXTY-ONE years later!   Crazy!

Anyway, congrats to the great Aaron Judge!   Sixty-one home runs is legendary and I believe 62 is on the way!   I’m Davey Mac…that’s just my two cents!

  • Favre's Trouble Deepens

More trouble for legendary Packers quarterback Brett Favre!   ESPN is reporting that Favre’s charity donated more than $130,000 to the University of Southern Mississippi Athletic Foundation.   The charity, called Favre 4 Hope, is supposed to donate funds for programs that help children with disabilities and women battling breast cancer.   Oh, this is NOT good for Favre!   Favre has also been accused of rerouting million dollars to builds a volleyball court and football practice facility for the same college (where he went to school and where his daughter also attends).

  • LeBron & Pickleball?

LeBron James, Draymond Green, and Kevin Love are buying a professional team.  A professional PICKLEBALL team.   Apparently Major League Pickleball is expanding from 12 to 16 teams…and LeBron and his buddies want in.   OK…I can see Love and Draymond buying a pickleball team.   But LeBron?   Shouldn’t he be trying to buy a franchise that has a little more cache?   Like the Lakers or something?!   Just saying!
