It’s your pal Davey Mac here!   And, as a lifelong resident of New Jersey, I’m excited to announce that hockey is returning to East Rutherford!

The Premier Hockey Federation’s Metropolitan Riveters will play their home games inside American Dream…the complex located in East Rutherford where The Meadowlands existed.   The Riveters are a professional women’s hockey team.

Of course, this marks a hockey return to that area for the first time since 2007 (the Devils played in East Rutherford from 1982 to 2007).   The building will hold around 2,000 fans and is expected to offer good fun and drink.   I like it!

Hey, I’m all for seeing some good hard hockey at this place.   While the Devils are still going strong in Newark…it’ll be nice to enjoy action on the ice at the Meadowlands again.   I’m all in!   Let’s go Riveters!

Check out this fantastic highlight video of the Devils winning their first Stanley Cup in 1995 in Jersey!   What a memory!

And since we’re feeling nostalgic, let’s take another trip down memory lane!    The Devils clinched their second title in Dallas…but in 2003 the Devils were back on their home ice in East Rutherford when they won their third Stanley Cup!   What a time!

  • Yanks Beat Sox---No Homers For Judge

The Yankees beat the Boston Red Sox again last night…final score…5 to 3.   No home run for Aaron Judge…though he did have a hit.   Nestor Cortes was solid in his second stint off the I.L. Cortes threw five innings…giving up just one run…while striking out seven…Nestor picks up the win.   Gleyber Torres as three hits in the game as Gleyber appears to be heating up.   The Yanks have won four games in a row and have a six-game lead over the Blue Jays for first place in the A.L. East.

  • Mets Lose To Cubs

Meanwhile, the Mets lost their third game in a row as the Mets fell to the Cubs…6 to 3.   Met starter David Peterson had a nightmare of an outing.   Peterson only threw one-third of an inning yet still gave up five runs.   He receives the loss.   The Mets are fortunate, however, as the Braves also lost to the Giants last night…and so the Mets stay in first place in the N.L. East by a half game over Atlanta.

We’ve got a big, AFC West matchup as the (1 and 0) Chargers take on the (1 and 0) Chiefs in Kansas City.   Patrick Mahomes is coming off an insane Week 1 game in which he threw for 360 yards and five touchdowns against the Cardinals.   The Chargers Justin Herbert is pretty darn good as well…as Herbert threw for 279 yards and three touchdowns in Week 1 against the Raiders.   Should be a fun game!

He’d come in fifteen minutes before the game eating chicken and rice. While the coaches are talking, he would jump in the shower. Cold shower. Come and give you 15-20 rebounds.”
