A really good cup of cappuccino is such a delight after a good meal. I normally order a cappuccino after a meal in an Italian restaurant. Hey, cappuccinos are good any time of day.

What is a cappuccino?
According to Nescafe, A cappuccino is the perfect balance of espresso, steamed milk and foam. This coffee is all about the structure and the even splitting of all elements into equal thirds. An expertly made cappuccino should be rich, but not acidic and have a mildly sweet flavoring from the milk.

The espresso flavor, as the base of a cup of cappuccino, is more intense than regular coffee. However, the dilution of the espresso by foamed milk will significantly lessen that flavor. High-quality drip coffee will usually be robust in flavor, but balanced and smooth.

A lot of people I’ve encountered have often asked what the difference is between cappuccino and latte.

Both are espresso based. How many shots of espresso depends on how strong you want it to be when ordering one of these espresso-based drinks from your favorite coffee café or shop.

There are 3 components that make up these drinks, milk, milk foam, and espresso. The ratio of foam to milk is the key in determining the difference between the beverages. Latte is mostly milk with a touch of foam, Cappuccino has a more concentrated coffee flavor and a larger amount of foam.

So now that we have a bit of knowledge on these lovely beverages, how about taking a ride through Ocean County to find some of the best places to grab a cup of cappuccino. By the way, I prefer a cappuccino to a latte.
