Good morning, Sports fans.   Davey Mac here with the first Sports Report of 2023...and I wish I could bring in the new year with joy...but sadly...we have a serious developing story.

We had a really scary incident on Monday Night Football last night which led to the game getting postponed.   And that’s because Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field in the first quarter against the Cincinnati Bengals and is in critical condition.

Hamlin had just tackled receiver Tee Higgins.  He hopped back to his feet, then fell straight backwards.  CPR was administered for several minutes, before Hamlin was taken by ambulance to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.   As of last night, he was in critical condition, but there's still no word what happened.  Hamlin is 24 years old.

At around 10 o'clock, the decision was made not to resume the game...which the Bengals were leading 7 to 3.  There's no word yet on rescheduling or resuming.

The incident was shocking to say the least.   Below is footage of the tackle...which seemed routine enough...followed by Hamlin's collapse and the subsequent reaction.   Prayers and well-wishes for Damar Hamlin.
