It's the originator of the WRAT.com Top 5 lists "East Side" Dave McDonald here! Throughout the years, I've been putting out these massively popular Top 5 lists that the public has clamored for. What can I say...I'm considered to be a bit of a pop culture genius.
So I'm perusing this great website when I see Jimmy Steal's Top 5 Thanksgiving Movies. What the turkey is this? Hannah & Her Sisters?! I ain't puttin' Woody Allen on MY wholesome holiday list!
Behold! It's the one and only East Side Dave's Top 5 Thanksgiving Movies! And it starts...right now!
East Side Dave of the Morning Rat RaceEast Side Dave...the originator of WRAT.com's 'Top 5' Lists...looking professional and handsome.
5.) Grumpy Old Men
The movie revolves around Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau being alone on Thanksgiving and we go from there. A fantastic holiday movie with legendary actors.
4.) Rocky
People may not consider Rocky a Thanksgiving movie...but the Dave Man does! That's what separates me from other list-makers...I bring the unique entries, dawg! Let's not forget the classic Thanksgiving scene with Paulie throwing the turkey out of the window...what a waste of good food!
3.) Scent Of A Woman
Though Al Pacino won his only Oscar for playing the blind, former military man...it really is Thanksgiving that ties the film together and gives the picture its' base. Pacino goes from broken down, bitter, lonely veteran to a caring human being. Awesome flick.
2.) Planes, Trains & Automobiles
Not only is this the best Thanksgiving movie ever...it may be in the running for the best John Candy and Steve Martin movie as well. It's funny and sentimental and perfect for turkey day.
1.) The Last Waltz
Martin Scorcese's first (and perhaps best) rockumentary centered on the legendary rock group, The Band, as they played their final concert on Thanksgiving day at San Francisco's Winterland Ballroom in 1976. The audience was treated to turkey and sides...and then for dessert given one of the greatest rock concerts ever.
