The Morning Rat Race

NEW ORLEANS, LA - MARCH 21: Indianapolis Colts NFL team owner Jim Irsay address the media at the Roosevelt Hotelon March 21, 2011 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Greetings, Sports fans!   It’s your arbiter of athletics Davey Mac here!   And I’m coming in HOT!   My take?

…Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay is bat-crap NUTS!

Washington Commanders v Indianapolis Colts

Irsay just fired head coach Frank Reich who…despite being saddled with aged quarterback after aged quarterback…finished at 41-35-1…six games over .500.   Reich also led the Colts to the playoffs twice with an about-to-retire Andrew Luck and about-to-retire Philip Rivers.

He would have made the playoffs again last year had then-Colts QB Carson Wentz not played terribly down the stretch.

Cleveland Browns v Indianapolis Colts

But that’s actually not even the nutty part.   Only hours after he surprisingly fired Reich…Irsay then shockingly announced that he has hired Jeff Saturday as the new interim head coach!

Now, if you don’t know, Saturday is a former center and was a good player in the NFL.   He also has gone to ESPN where he is a very good analyst.   BUT…he has never coached a second of football on ANY level!

I’m sorry, but the Colts and Irsay are off the rails.   This organization is getting downright squirrelly!   I’m Davey Mac…that’s my two cents.
