The latest Star Wars series is mere days away and I'm as excited as a Bantha in heat! Darth David here, Leias and Jedimen, with an update on Ahsoka...coming to Disney Plus on August 23rd Starring Rosario Dawson in the title role...Ahsoka promises to be a very special show for hardcore fans of the Saga and casual fans alike.

If you are unaware, Ahsoka first debuted in the excellent animated series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The show gave fans some of the best Star Wars story-telling we've seen...expanding and enriching the already-vast Galaxy. And Ahsoka was one of the most important characters on the show.

She started as Anakin Skywalker's Padawan (a student of an experienced Jedi). Ahsoka was inexperienced at what it meant to truly be a Jedi Knight...but learned valuable lessons along the way. Unfortunately, she left the Jedi Order (in Season Five) after she was wrongfully accused of being a traitor and bombing the Jedi Temple.

Ahsoka made her next appearance in Star Wars: Rebels...another great animated show. In that series, she confronted Darth Vader (whom she realized/learned that he was in fact Anakin Skywalker turned to the Dark Side). She also visited the World Between Worlds in Season Four...and these seem to be important plot points for this upcoming series.

Ahsoka made her first live-action appearance in The Mandalorian (Season Two, Episode Five)...and it was seriously cool. The character looked great, was fleshed out, and seem to capture the same vibe as her animated self. She then appeared in Episode Six of The Book Of Boba Fett alongside Grogu and Luke Skywalker. Pretty cool stuff.

All in all...this show has huge potential. Dave Filoni, the co-creator of the character (along with George Lucas himself), says that he intends to take the Ahsoka series and begin weaving the other "Mandoverse" shows together to make an epic, MCU-style, connected story-telling. And I think he could pull it off. Check out the clips for Ahsoka below!
