Good morning, Sports fans! Davey Mac here with another big-time Sports Report for ya! We've got an NFL rule change! NHL and NBA scores and updates! But first...a little baseball!
Well, folks, we're exactly ONE DAY away from Major League Baseball Opening Day! YES! And although I am very excited to see my New York Yankees back on the field, my enthusiasm has been curbed. And that's because the trusted website Baseball Reference came out with their Major League Baseball predictions for 2024…and they think that the Yankees are gonna follow up their extremely disappointing 2023 year with an even worse season! Uh oh!

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON - MAY 31: Manager Aaron Boone #17 and Aaron Judge #99 of the New York Yankees talk during batting practice before the game against the Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park on May 31, 2023 in Seattle, Washington.
According to Baseball Reference, the Yankees will go...71 and 91 and finish in last place in the A.L. East. I mean...seriously?! If the Yankees finish twenty games under .500 and miss the playoffs for a second straight season then I say FIRE EVERYONE! You hear me, Hal Steinbrenner?! Get some heads rolling...because this is unacceptable!

BRONX, NEW YORK - DECEMBER 21: Yankees principal owner Hal Steinbrenner speaks during a press conference at Yankee Stadium on December 21, 2022 in Bronx, New York.
Hey, I'm still going into the season with an optimistic mindset. I mean...the Yanks did sign slugger Juan Soto...which is a really good thing. And who knows...maybe their acquisition of pitcher Marcus Stroman will pay dividends. But I gotta tell you...if the Yankees indeed struggle again in 2024...then they need to fire general manager Brian Cashman! It's Cashman's fault! I'm Davey Mac...now on to the rest of the Sports Report!
