Legendary author Cormac McCarthy has died at the age of 89 years old. McCarthy was a revered author who won a Pulitzer Prize in 2007 for his novel The Road…which would be turned into a critically-acclaimed film starring Viggo Mortensen. He also wrote the book No Country For Old Men…which would be made into an Academy Award Best Picture-winning movie by the Coen Brothers.

In addition to those two classic, McCarthy wrote the heralded book All The Pretty Horses which would be transformed into a picture starring Matt Damon. McCarthy also wrote the screenplays for The Counselor directed by Ridley Scott and the fantastic HBO film Sunset Limited starring Samuel L. Jackson and Tommy Lee Jones.

McCarthy is a true American master. His writing is haunting and captivating. He will be missed.
