Who'd ready to get into the Halloween spirit with these Halloween events on the Jersey Shore?!

Hell yeah, it’s Halloween Season at The Jersey Shore!  That means fun decorations, costume parties, haunted houses and hayrides.  I’m talkin’ Halloween events for everyone on the Jersey Shore in Monmouth and Ocean Counties!

WRAT’s annual costume party will be going down on October 28th.  The party starts at 8pm at Martell’s on the boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach!  We’ll have a great time with live music from Big Bang Baby, a live DJ between sets, and a free buffet.  Plus don’t forget that cash prizes for the costume contest!  It’s always a great time so stay tuned for your chance to win free passes!

Some of these Halloween events on the Jersey Shore are way too scary for kids because the employees specifically want to scare the you-know-what out of you.  They take scaring you as a point of pride, so beware!  Anything like that and I’ll mention that it’s not for kids.  But, lots of these Halloween events are perfect for everyone.

I’ve left off the trunk-or-treat events and most of the farmers market type places that just toss some pumpkins in a field and call it, “Pick Your Own Pumpkin”.  Those things are cool but, for me, they’re just ways for those places to jump on the Halloween bandwagon.  All of these joints put some real effort into Halloween events on the Jersey Shore; they get us psyched up into the Halloween spirit!

So, get your ghoul on.  Take a shot of courage and venture, if you dare, into the Halloween season.  Get into the night and see if you can make it back alive!  There’s no telling what creatures may be hiding!

Halloween is our favorite holiday because there’s parties, you get to get dressed up, you don’t have to buy tons of presents for everyone and you don’t have to cook for everyone in your family!

The only question left is:  How many of these will you hit this spooky season?!

  • Toms River Halloween Parade

I don’t have to tell you how awesome this Halloween event is!  This parade lays claim to being the second largest Halloween parade in the country.  Organized by our pals at Toms River Fire Company No. 1, it’s as long as the night is dark!  This parade is so cool.  So many different groups take part in the annual parade.  Set yourself up anywhere along Main Street or Washington Street and you’ll be good to go for this fun family event.  Look for the WRAT Pack leading the parade again this year!  If you’d like to be in the parade, you can!  Just register on parade day at the firehouse on Robbins Avenue.  The 84th Annual Toms River Halloween parade is October 31st.  The parade begins at 7pm.

  • Asbury Zombie Walk

Our friend Jason started the Zombie Walk as a fun and friendly event in Asbury Park back in the day.  It started as a fun way to get out in zombie outfits but quickly steamrolled into a massive outing of awesome people in some of the greatest zombie outfits known to human kind.  Every kind of zombie turns out for the Asbury Park Zombie Walk, it’s a truly one of a kind event.  There’s usually even a free make up area!  This zombie walk is so cool that it set a world record not once, but TWICE!  Actually recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records, twice!

The Asbury Park Zombie Walk 2022 was a great time!

  • Fright Fest at Six Flags Great Adventure

Believe it or not, Fright Fest is beginning its’ 30th year!  Thirty years of rides, laughs, screams and scares!  The park has been decorated for weeks already.  Entrance to the park includes the general Fright Fest activities but you’ll need to buy a special ticket for some of the extra stuff.

  • C. Casola Farms Haunted Attractions

Every year this seems to get a little better than the year before.  Now with five different attractions, the C. Casola Farms in Marlboro can scare the pants off ya! A “Hayride of Terror” and “Living Maze” headline this year’s attractions.  Our area has a ton of farm markets that try to transform into a Halloween landscape for the season; this one is one of the better ones to check out.  Especially cool is the chance to shoot at zombies with paintball guns!

  • Fear In The Forest

Headed to Pemberton, New Jersey for this one.  The Fear in the Forest is a haunted trail through the woods that claims to be a “fully interactive” experience with fog machines, lighting effects, and sound effects to created a “fully terrifying” experience.  They say that young kids shouldn’t do this thing… so let that be a guide to you on how scary they make this thing.

Thank you everyone for a great 2022 Season!!We will see you in 2023 as we have many amazing new things planned!!

  • Brookdale Community College's Haunted Theater

Just like Great Adventure, Brookdale has been in the haunted fun business for a wicked long time; talking 20 years.  The Haunted Theater isn’t something that you sit through.  It’s in a theater but it’s more like a maze with lots of fun and spooky effects that change each year.  Brookdale suggests that this Halloween is family friendly.  They claim that they’ve won “best overall attraction” for 3 years in a row.

  • Gravity Hill

Just over the town line from Howell into Jackson, you will find the Nightmare at Gravity Hill.  The Haunted Field, the Ghost Town, the Graveyard are really fun.  But, of course, there’s the phenomenon of the hill itself; as seen on Weird New Jersey.  The haunted trails of Gravity Hill can take forever to figure out, if you ever actually do.  How scary is Gravity Hill?  No one under 14 years of age is allowed.

  • Honorable Mention: Eastern State Penitentiary

    It’s worth the drive.

One thing to note:  you don’t park at the ESP.  Parking is at the zoo and a shuttle takes people to and from the event.  The Eastern State Penitentiary has been an active Halloween destination for years.  The daytime activities are pretty easy so they might be kinda kid friendly but we know some people have mental hangovers from going there at night.  So, consider yourself warned!  Good luck!
