When you’re looking for a good solid sandwich, sub, wrap, or anything else that qualifies as a sandwich, you want quality and a respectable amount of filling when it comes to what goes on that sandwich.
How does one go about finding the best places to stuff your face in Ocean County? You go to your favorite sandwich sites on social media, and of course the people you know personally who live and shop in the county.
The list has a couple of my favorites, Jimmy Steal’s favorites, and the rest is based on comments from friends and acquaintances on one of my foodie-sandwich pages on Facebook.
So here we go:
1. Anthony's From Brooklyn
I hear nothing but great things about Anthony's From Brooklyn. The quality of the bread and the meat and the hefty meat portions on their subs are enough for 2 meals.

2. Lenny's Silverton Market
This is one of Jimmy Steal's go-to places. He's constantly talking about the homemade pasta sauces that he buys by the quart. The subs are fit for his manly appetite, and the great quality of meats they offer at the butcher counter. Lenny's Silverton Market also does quality catering and that seals the deal for him. I hear their short ribs in BBQ sauce will knock your socks off.

3. Breakin Bread Eatery
This place keeps surfacing on my social media feed. That alone has me interested in what this gem holds for a future lunch. Breaking Bread Eatery is family owned and they claim that your belly will be full, and your heart will be happy after enjoying a meal at this establishment. They're singing my song with a sandwich called, "The Sweet Piggy." It's prosciutto, burrata, arugula with fig jam. Plus they have homemade soups, pasta dishes, and desserts.

4. Scala's Deli
I received a phone call from Lisa in Toms River telling me about Scala's Italian Deli & Catering. The way she was going on and on about how great the food is and that the owner's Italian mother is the little old lady in the back creating authentic Italian dishes, I swore she was a family member. I went to their Facebook page to look at the food and my heart stopped when I saw a photo of sausage stuffed long hots and big beautiful rice balls, I knew this woman was speaking the truth.

6. Jovo's Deli
Here's a place I have never heard of. It's called Jovo's Deli on 88 in Brick and it's been around since 2012. I now want to know this place based on a couple of internet reviews and recommendations from locals. Their breakfast sandwiches look insane. I love a good Pork roll, egg, and cheese on a nice roll.

7. Casertano's Cucina Deli & Catering
Casertano's Cucina Deli & Catering caters to quite a few galas and is ready to make your dinner at a moment's notice. Enjoy their Heat & Eat meals, like Grilled London Broil with Mashed Potatoes and Broccoli.
The wide variety of sandwiches, paninis, and specialty items will totally make your mouth water.

9. Joe Leone's
Do Joe Leone's Italian Specialties even need an introduction? There are 3 locations, but we love the one in Point Please Beach. Make sure to get the perfectly pounded chicken Milanese with fresh mozzarella, red ripe tomato, fresh basil, and a drizzle of the balsamic glaze on the crusty Italian bread.

10. Driftwood Deli and Sub Shop
Serving the Ocean County area for over 47 years! When a place lasts nearly 50 years, you know they're doing something right. I've never heard a negative word about this place. Driftwood Deli and Sub Shop were even kind enough to feed the crew at The WRAT - Ocean Of Love Radiothon, and they even sent Santa down to bring cheer and helped raise lots of money for kids with cancer.
