The Jersey Shore Down Syndrome Association is having their annual Buddy Walk on Saturday October 3, 2015.
If you have Down Syndrome, know someone that has Down syndrome or just want to show support come join in! The Buddy Walk is a one-mile pledge walk designed to help increase public awareness and the acceptance of individuals with Down Syndrome as well as raise funds to support initiatives and services for them in our own communities.
The walk is from 9:30am-3pm est (rain or shine), at the picnic area in Winding River Park, Toms River, NJ. The entrance to the park is on Route 37.
This event is more than an awareness walk. The event will include refreshments, activities and entertainment in a place where the community can relax, have fun and enjoy each others company. This year there will be plenty of food (as always) but we’ll be cooking on the grill and serving it up family picnic style in order to celebrate our family within the community.
Details and online registration can be found at http://jsdsa.org/walk or you can register online at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2015-jsdsa-buddy-walk-in-the-park-tickets-18109548146. Donations are not required to participate in the walk. If you would like to collect donations, please feel free to share the event’s page with friends and they may make a donation there if they wish.
