The Arc of Monmouth returns its “Step Up for The Arc” Walk & 5k to the boardwalk and the Stone Pony on Saturday, April 11.
This important event hopes to raise over $50,000 for housing, employment, family supports and other vital services for people with Down syndrome, autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
The event occurs on Saturday, April 11 with a 5k run at 8:30 a.m., kids’ fun run at 9:30 a.m., and a walk at 11:00 a.m.
Registration will be held in the Stone Pony’s summer stage area, with 5k check in starting at 8:00 a.m. and Walk check in beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Awards will be presented following each event. Starbucks and Costco will provide free coffee and bagels, and the legendary Stone Pony will host an after-party BBQ, with grilling expertise provided by the Lodges of the 17th Masonic District.
The event features live music by the Wait Till Friday band on the Stone Pony stage, with tunes by DJ Nicky in the outdoor area. Walkers will be led to the boardwalk by Tillie the Clown and the Asbury Park High School Marching Band.
Admission also includes a free t-shirt, carnival games, photo booths and free pinball at the Silverball Museum Arcade.
