Have you ever wondered how a radio works? Or how robots are able to walk? Several Ocean County Library branches will answer these and other questions as they participate in NJ Makers Day on Saturday, March 21st.

NJ Makers Day is a statewide single-day event that celebrates, promotes and introduces maker culture and maker spaces, as well as the values associated with making, tinkering and STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) based learning.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, “employment in occupations related to STEM — science, technology, engineering, and mathematics — is projected to grow to more than 9 million by 2022. That’s an increase of about 1 million jobs.”

The following Ocean County Library branches are participating:

  • Island Heights (121 Central Avenue), 11am – 1pm
  • Jackson (2 Jackson Drive), 10am – 3pm
  • Toms River (101 Washington Street), 10am – 3pm
  • Tuckerton (380 Bay Avenue), 10am – noon

Ocean County Library is among 100 other libraries, community groups and organizations across New Jersey participating in NJ Makers Day.
