MITM Theater Presents PL@Y by JD Wilson & Nicholas Norcia, Music written & performed by The Amboys Choreography by Let’s Dance Studios MITM Theater proudly announces the second run of its hit original production PL@Y which is being performed at the historic Strand Theater in Lakewood for three performances this November 21st and 22nd. MITM Theater made its debut splash last November at the Algonquin Arts Theater in Manasquan where PL@Y sold out both performances.

This year, PL@Y comes to the Strand with a new look and some new faces, but with the same creative spirit that made last year’s production a success. PL@Y tells the heartwarming, hilarious tale of Ashley, a young woman whose obsession with technology leads her down the proverbial rabbit hole to a strange and distant land. Ashley encounters colorful characters as she tries to find her way back home in a music-and-dance-filled comic romp for the whole family. Inspired by and featuring the original songs of the Amboys who will be performing live, PL@Y was written by two local playwrights during the 10-day electrical blackout following Hurricane Sandy. The resulting play fittingly explores the uniquely 21st century way that people interact with technology and each other in an uplifting, musical, and lightly satirical way.

PL@Y is directed by Jessica Berger, choreographed by Sarah McCuiston of Let’s Dance Studios, and features performances by a talented cast including Jennifer Townsend, JD Wilson, eleven-year old Sean Haugh who will be reprising his performance from last year’s production as Johnny the nematode, along with many other talented local performers. Performance Days/Times: Friday November 21st at 8 p.m. Saturday November 22nd at 3 p.m., and at 8 p.m. All three performances will be at the Strand Theater Tickets: Available at, by phone at 732.730.5925, or at box office on days of performances General admission, Adults: $10 General admission, Children & Seniors: $5 Preferred seating package: $25 (includes pre-show appetizers and drinks at the Strand along with premium loge seating) About Music is the Medicine Foundation: Music is the Medicine Foundation is a locally run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has been in existence since 2010.

Over the last four years, Music is the Medicine has raised over $50,000 for various charities including the Ashley Lauren Foundation, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital, the Wounded Warrior Project, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Oceans of Love, Providence House, and Hurricane Sandy relief.
