The goal is to create a day to demonstrate the presence and power of peer mentors within our community. The day will celebrate Emiliana and all her hopes and dreams associated with peer mentoring initiatives, as well as a day to celebrate togetherness among all of Ocean County. Lastly, it will be a day that we can celebrate these initiatives every year, as well as utilize this platform to help raise awareness and funds for Childhood Cancer.
Emiliana’s Hope is a 501 3c non-profit foundation assisting families affected by childhood cancer. Emiliana O’Brien was an athletic 12 year-old when she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare bone cancer, in June 2015. Emiliana bravely fought the battle against cancer until she became an angel on December 1, 2015. It is the initiative of the Foundation to improve the lives of pediatric cancer patients with hope and their families’ comfort, while creating awareness of pediatric cancer.
