Girl Scouts Badge Workshops

Morven is the home of one of America’s first female published poets, Annis Boudinot Stockton.  The girl scouts will tour Morven Museum with the Curator of Education to “meet” Annis and learn a bit about her life and writing.  To complete the Poetry part of the Scribe badge,  each girl will write a Haiku (a Japanese poem of seventeen syllables, in three lines of five, seven, and five, traditionally evoking images of the natural world.) The scouts will also write a group short story, “words about me”, a newsletter and Letter to the Editor for a fun-filled afternoon. All materials, badge, and snack provided.
