Day of “Hope” with “Soul Surfer” Bethany Hamilton

The Great Auditorium at Ocean GroveOn October 15, 2016, beginning at 9:30 am JSU is hosting a Day of “Hope” with “Soul Surfer” Bethany Hamilton. Bethany came to the spotlight when she lost her arm in a 2003 shark attack. Instead of allowing her injury to dismantle her life and dreams, Bethany came back stronger and has gone on to become one of today’s most prominent and respected pro-surfers and faith icons. She now travels across the world to share with others how to turn their loss into triumph and how to gain resilience in the face of hardship. When asked about her speaking tour, Bethany said, “I love sharing my life story with people to encourage them to overcome adversity. It brings my life joy to share a message of true hope.”
Bethany’s will join in a fundraiser for Jersey Shore United in Ocean Grove, New Jersey. Her day will include a live speaking appearance in the Great Auditorium, a VIP event, where special attendees will have the opportunity to surf with Bethany and spend the day with her. She will also be part of a luncheon/auction that will include items like autographed surfboards, surf lessons and camp experiences, Jet Blue tickets, a TV and much much more. All funds raised that day will go to purchase building materials and supplies for families in need.
