This week’s episode was recorded at The Lakehouse Music Academy in Asbury Park! The Lakehouse Music Academy is a place where students of all ages and skill levels can learn from experienced, highly-skilled singers, songwriters, and musicians. It is an institution that facilitates the cycle of musical renewal in the city by the sea, allowing the artists of today to pass on lessons to the Jersey Rockers of tomorrow. Those future musicians are not just children, but also retirees. Whether a person is 6 or 60 they can study a number of musical elements at The Lakehouse including song-writing, engineering, production, business, marketing and live performance.
3 times per year The Lakehouse puts on a 3-day showcase they call “The Big Gig.” It allows instructors to show the community exactly what their students have been working on and gives students the ultimate lesson: real world experience. It’s a great event that any fan of music should attend. The next Big Gig rocks The Asbury Lanes from Friday 2/7 to Sunday 2/9. It’s an all-ages show. Admission is FREE! Learn more HERE!
We chat with a number of Lakehouse Instructors and students as well as founder Jon Leidersdorf. We also crank tunes from Lakehouse staff and students on the academy’s Moto Records lable!
