This week our guest is Emma Lipnicky, CEO and Founder of the nonprofit Livlikeaunicorn.org. The idea came from Emma and her husband Brian’s daughter Olivia, who sadly passed on November 6th 2019 from pediatric cancer after discovering a tumor on her spine which eventually spread. The mission of Liv Like A Unicorn is to raise awareness and to help fund advancements in pediatric brain and spinal cord tumor research. The statistics of pediatric cancer research are grim, with only four percent of monies raised going towards pediatric research. Two percent of monies go towards brain tumor research. Liv Like A Unicorn has so far raised over 300,000 dollars towards specific research.
